Ameisenkino (Ant Cinema)
Johann Lurf
16 mm installation 6 x 4 mm, 1 min loop
Austria 2009
A 16 mm loop with a reversed lens creates a bright yet miniscule 6 x 4 mm projection, smaller than the image on the film itself. The palm of a viewer or any object introduced into the light beam of the projector serves as the projection screen.
Additionally, a text is displayed: “Assuming that you dig a little deeper into the anthill and discover a cinema – what else would the moving images on the screen show but further ants?” (Johann Lurf)
