"The series presents the resulting images from a cockfight set over large sheets of photographic paper (sensible to light and chemical agents). One of the roosters has been coated with photographic developer and its adversary with photographic fixer. Therefore, due to the birds’ sparring, each time there is contact with the surface of the paper, dark and light marks are created. A kind of calligraphy of combat emerges, a landscape that can be observed after the battle.

Underneath the superficial impression we discover the calligraphy of a fight, a landscape of violence, a confrontation of forces, the strategies of the contenders. It is not so much a description of the fight but its own trace, its physical record.
